Bill Turpin has more than 30 years of experience as a serial entrepreneur. Over the course of his career, he has identified and led the market in significant technology shifts, including Personal Computers, Windows, the Internet, and 3D virtual worlds. One of his startups pioneered the concept of cloud computing and invented the JavaScript programming language. He has been the founding CEO of four startups and a senior executive at public companies including Netscape, Borland, and Texas Instruments. Bill was an active leader in the Silicon Valley ecosystem. He worked with large venture funds, such as Kleiner Perkins and Redpoint Ventures, provided mentoring to fellow innovators, and was an active angel investor. In 2014, Bill returned to Columbia to share his experiences with entrepreneurs in Mid-Missouri as President of the Missouri Innovation Center. While at MIC, Bill formed the MIC Technology Accelerator Fund to provide early-stage capital to innovative startups in the region. The fund invested in 24 startups – several of which have been quite successful and raised significant later-stage investments.
